Our story

Named for the keeper of the hearth.

In Roman homes, Vesta was the goddess of the hearth — the warm centre a household gathered around, kept alight day and night. We borrowed the name because that's exactly the job: looking after the warmth at the heart of your home.

The warm heart, kept beating.

Vesta began in 2011 when Dan Whitfield, a Gas Safe engineer raised in Kentish Town, got tired of the way heating work was usually done — rushed callouts, vague quotes, parts swapped without explanation, and never a word about how to keep the thing running. He believed a boiler or a bathroom deserved the same care you'd give the rest of your home.

So he built a small firm around one idea: treat the warm heart of a home like it matters. The engineer who quotes your job is the one who turns up to do it. We work clean, we explain everything in plain English, and we'd rather tell you a part has years left in it than sell you a new one.

Fifteen years on, we're a close-knit team of Gas Safe heating engineers and bathroom fitters working out of a workshop off Regis Road. We still take the cold-morning emergency and the dripping tap — but our favourite days end with a family sitting in a warm room, or stepping into a bathroom they'll genuinely look forward to using.

What we stand for

Four things we never cut.

Safety, no shortcuts

Every gas job is tested, certified and notified. If we wouldn't run it in our own home, it doesn't get left in yours.

Plain answers

No jargon, no scare tactics, no padded quotes. We tell you what matters, what can wait, and exactly what it costs.

Clean as we go

Dust sheets down, pipework chased neatly, mess taken with us. You should barely know we were there — until it all just works.

Built to last

We size and fit things properly the first time, then back the work with a guarantee — so warmth stays warmth, for years.

The crew

The people on the tools.

Small firm, senior hands. The person who quotes your job is the person who turns up to do it.
